All this Singularity blah blah blah. People ask me “so what is The Singularity?”   I’m always wishing I could explain it better, more succinctly. I hate it when I see their eyes glaze over….

OK, here is something that was written  in 1993 by a man named Vernor Vinge, a mathematics professor at San Diego State, who is one of my all time favorite authors. I’ve read most everything he’s written. I believe he is the first to apply the concept of a ‘Singularity,’ drawn from physics, to describe the eventual consequences of accelerating intelligence.
