Retiring has allowed me to focus more energy on my ‘design sensibilities.’ This has required finding tools an older guy, without many physical skills, can use on the long journey from the Platonic realm of ideal forms to the back yard storage shed. Along the way, just as retirement unfolded, I discovered Google Sketchup, a means of augmenting my limited ability to describe what I see in my mind. It enables me to make drawings that communicate and express these designs to others, like real builders and craftspeople, who can then create them in wood and stone. The results, so far, are all around me.

After spending a while on the design of our physical space, I began working in the more abstract space of programming. That is also an opportunity to visualize the pattern and structure that occur to me. This section of the web site is a window on these various creations and how they came together.
